A highly recommended visit for anyone visiting the area. Truly historical and well preserved house, seems that George Washington stayed here for a few days during the war. Barbara our guide was extremely knowledgeable and fun.
I came here with my mom for one of their regular weekend tours and we loved it! The tour guide was clearly very passionate about the house and history and learning about all the women that had lived in and protected it was so interesting! We'll definitely be back for one of their reenactments
I had my wedding here on Sunday and it was an absolute dream! Julie and Christine were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the whole process. Jaqua hall is the perfect spot for a low key DIY wedding and it holds around 100 people. We had about 65. They provide you with tables and chairs and you can pretty much decorate it any way you want. You can do your ceremony on the grounds too. I used a lot of rental items and set up was a breeze. The photos came out spectacularly with The Hermitage as our background. I can’t recommend it enough for your next event!
What a gem of a place to visit to learn so much about early American history in New Jersey. Really loved the intimate exhibit about events unfolding during the Revolutionary War and how the estate was successfully managed and saved by resilient and visionary women of the families. Wonderful gift shop and grounds. I will surely return for the guided tour at the Hermitage.
I lived in Bergen County my whole life and I never came here. There was a maple syrup, tapping event and the two women that are volunteers. Such a nice job.
