My clients picked this restaurant for lunch, and the order was called in. I got the specialty turkey sandwich. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked into a cute restaurant. The food wasn't ready yet and waited for about 10 more minutes. I paid and left. When I ate the sandwich, it was very good. Inloved the bread it came on. I had a good experience.
I walked in with my wife for lunch today. We were seated at a table and the female who seated us asked for our drinks and we asked for water. She dropped the bottle off and we decided what we wanted from the menu. Several minutes later our waiter came around asking if we wanted any drinks and we replied we were fine with our water. There was only one other table occupied and a group of elderly women was then seated. Finally our waiter dropped by to take our order. We asked for an eggplant panini and a half sandwich and soup. When I asked for the half sandwich to be cut in half, the waiter replied that the sandwich is very small. I told him that I understood and would just like it cut in half please. About 5 minutes later he took the orders of the elderly women at the table next to us. Knowing that our order was quite simple, I was under the impression that we would receive our food shortly. About 15 minutes later the waiter began delivering the food to the table who ordered at least 5 minutes after we did. Apparently one of the elderly women ordered only a slice of pizza and it came out quite quickly, so the waiter decided to push their order ahead of ours. What irritated me was that the one elderly woman ordered the identical order as we did so I knew it wasn't an issue of our food taking longer to cook. Completely annoyed and disgusted we got up and left. Word the wise, next time treat first timers the same way you treat regulars.
Chef has some mainstay recipes like his short ribs on risotto, papadrelle or other pasta. Sauce is delicious as is the meat. Go for just these recipes! Spaghetti in clam sauce also perfect. Kudos for getting these and others right. A hidden jem and reasonable too. Staff is young but on the ball with a few veterans watching over the rotation. BYOB and be happy they are there. So many other Italian restaurants are just so so or mediocre and sure, they miss some details, but when it comes to staff and food, just go and enjoy in an informal familial atmosphere.
This is a fine place with a beautiful atmosphere. The service it good, the interior design is almost perfect, and the food good. But my one big complaint is they claim to make brick oven pizza and it’s more like faux brick oven. First of all there is no break oven to speak of. It is actually a modern stainless steel oven in the shape of a brick oven and I believe it’s gas powered. That being said the pizza is definitely good but it’s really missing that natural flavor you get from a traditional brick oven set up. It tastes more like a standard American pie. On the bright side, the focaccia bread is pretty good and the Barata cheese is amazing.
Went to pick up Too good to go order. There was a guy in front of me who also came to pick up Tgtg order. The owner gave him 2 boxes of pizza while I was right behind of him. For my order, the owner provided 2 packs of garlic breads with 2 pieces of random bread. I know Too good to go order is random, but knowing that I wasn’t provided equally and fairly compared to other customer, I felt I was discriminated. **If the other guy placed 2 orders and received 2 boxes of pizza, you should’ve provided me with 1 box of pizza. But you only provided garlic breads. How are you saying this is right?
